Mission

Charleston Rail seeks to preserve and interpret the history of railways and rail transit in Charleston, SC and its environs for the benefit of present and coming generations. It does so by using the lessons of the past to inform the decisions of the future. The goal of preservation is to keep intact items of regional importance, while supplementing the collections with significant national and international objects to enhance interpretive and educational programs.
